This documentary film revisits the career and path of Marie Trintignant by drawing on the loving and often amused gaze of her father Jean-Louis Trintignant, but also on those of actors and directors with whom she worked.

Marie Trintignant

When she was a child, Marie Trintignant wondered: why did her father Jean-Louis Trintignant say "I'm going to play" when he went to work when she had to go to school? As a teenager, she also got involved in the game of performing: "La Terrasse" by Ettore Scola, "Série Noire" by Alain Corneau, with such high standards that at the beginning this profession, performing was painful. Claude Chabrol, by directing it in “Une Affaire de Femmes” then “Betty”, brought her the pleasure of relaxation and playfulness.

Her talent and creativity have unfolded in a career guided by a taste for games, authors, and the desire to defend characters of unique women. A career apart where gravity and fantasy, humor and absurdity, daring and intelligence merge, unlike any other. About fifty roles in the cinema, about twenty in the theater where you can see your taste for others, of the other, immense talent and great independence of mind.

This documentary film revisits the career and path of Marie Trintignant by drawing on the loving and often amused gaze of her father Jean-Louis Trintignant, but also on those of actors and directors with whom she worked: Pierre Salvadori, Irène Jacob, Didier Le Pécheur, Bernie Bonvoisin, Jean-Hughes Anglade, Rosalinde Deville, and two journalists and film critics: Guillemette Odicino and Thierry Jousse.
